A few words about Simon…

Simon Bolton-Gabrielsen is a creative film Director, Screenwriter and sometime Producer based in Wakefield, in the north of England.

Simon trained as a professional singer in his youth, and has worked as a performer in theatre, before transitioning fully into film as a creative professional, combining a fascination for the technical and engineering aspects of filmmaking with an informed, unique creativity. Simon has worked as an educator in film practice at degree level and continues to connect his professional practice with a deep-seated critical engagement with film and visual communication.

After achieving the Northern Film School’s (UK) Masters degree in filmmaking, including co-producing the Student Academy Award- winning “Border Patrol”, Simon has gone on to develop independent production and client video, refining high-level professional skills and resources to complement both of these creative and professional outlets.

A lover of philosophy (especially epistemology and aesthetics), jazz and a good hat, Simon is a husband and father of three increasingly adult children, and engages with creative filmmaking in all its forms… and doesn’t actually own a blazer with patches on the elbows.

Yet.
